The event’s tagline said it all: “Kiss Our Asses, Release Your Taxes!”
And that’s exactly what hundreds of woke Americans did at 4pm local time across the river from Trump Tower in Chicago. While this form of protest doesn’t exactly gel with the progressive philosophy of “when they go low, we go high,” it does equate to a level that can be understood by President Donald J. Trump.
Going high brow hasn’t exactly gotten through to him, so perhaps going low brow will?
It’s worth noting that In 2006, a Maryland state circuit court determined that mooning is a form of artistic expression protected by the First Amendment as a form of speech, according to a recent DNA Info article. Event Organizer Bailey Davis is quoted in the piece:
“If you ridicule (Trump) or make him feel like he’s the loser, that’s how he blows up. That’s what makes The Donald implode.”
Exactly, protest works, because Trump is a thin-skinned narcissist who’s always desperate for popularity. This is how you get through to him. The phenomenal success of the Women’s March is a prime example. The purpose of this exercise was to show Trump that Americans want to see his tax returns.

On a day that was slightly above average in air temperature for this time of year, the group met at 3:30 PM at Trump Tower, right in front across the Chicago river. At the crack of 4:00 PM (pun intended and usually the warmest part of a given day), they pulled down their pants and sent their message.
Here is the video footage of the Trump Tower protest, which is quite possibly the most famous Chicago related mooning since Chicago Bears QB Jim McMahon showed his butt to a media helicopter at the Super Bowl.

Or if you prefer Instagram to Twitter, here’s another look at the video:
There was a handful of Trump supporters in attendance too, but no conflicts of any sort arose during the protest. There was a heavy Chicago police presence, and the event was completely peaceful. As a follow-up to the mooning of Trump Tower, downtown will see a “Tax March” on April 15th, where Chicagoans will again call for Trump to release his tax returns.
Trump has a long running beef with the city of Chicago on multiple fronts. Lately, he’s made the city a punching bag, painting the entire metropolis as a hellscape, overrun by gang members shooting and killing each other.
It’s a racist dog whistle to his bigoted supporters and it’s an extremely inaccurate narrative.

Out of the 22 police districts that comprise the city, almost all of the violent crimes occur in just five; with only three being as dangerous as national media hyperbole suggests. The namesake of Trump Tower needs to wake up on this and face reality.
