Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcus Rashford are two Manchester United strikers at the opposite ends of their careers. Despite playing the same position, and thus being in direct competition for playing time, both have found a way to make major contributions for United this season.
The 35-year-old Ibrahimovic and 18-year-old Rashford have both scored important goals at opportune times for the Red Devils this season on the pitch.
Off the pitch the strike force duo maintain a healthy friendship. Ibra, a world class superstar has been a great mentor to the young up-and-comer.
Marcus Rashford had a lot of great things to say about the mercurial Swede. Here’s what the young Englishman told Inside United magazine”
“You can’t ask for more. Zlatan is very easy to speak to and he’s easy to get along with.”
“The way he approaches every game is about winning. He wants to win, regardless of the opponent, whether we are home or away, whatever the odds — he always wants to find a way to win.
“That mentality is what you need to be at the top level. That is where he is and where he has been for years.”
Rashford had so many nice things to say that he even praised Wayne Rooney, which is something nobody on Earth seems to be doing right now. (deservedly so, given Rooney’s awful drop in form as of late)
“It has been amazing. We’ve got a lot of world-class players in the team, especially in the forwards like Zlatan and Wayne [Rooney].”
“For the young lads, we can’t ask for anything better.”
