Manchester United has offered to Bayern Munich midfielder, Toni Kroos. His contract runs until June 2015 but has so far he’s turned down one contract extension already from Bayern.
Felix Kroos, the brother of Toni Kroos, has revealed on Sky Germany that his brother has an offer from Manchester United, but wishes it was himself who is wanted by United.
Reported by Abendzeitung-Muenchen, he stated: “We have already talked about it. Manchester has been the team of my dreams since I was a child. However, I don’t give him any advice. He will take a good decision for himself. There are worse situations than having to decide something like that.”
Felix plays in the Bundesliga himself, but is a bit envious, and understandably so of his more sought after brother.
Now United are said to be offering Toni Kroos a contract worth £250,000 per week – thrice of what the midfielder is earning at his current club, the Daily Mirror reports. And given that they just handed out the richest contract in English football history to Wayne Rooney, on top of the lucrative Juan Mata deal, money is no object for David Moyes and the Glazer family.
Matthias Sammer, Bayern’s sporting director, has said the club are “determined” to ensure Kroos stays at the Allianz Arena.
“Toni has a contract until the summer of 2015 and he will not be going anywhere before then,” said Sammer.
Toni Kroos is considered one of the best young midfielders in Europe and claims he is happy in Bavaria, yet he still doesn’t want to talk any further about his contract until the summer. The main competition United will have for Toni Kroos will likely come from Juventus.
