Time for your daily David de Gea update. It’s a a never ending soap opera like Arturo Vidal was last summer. Will he stay at Manchester United, or move to Real Madrid? Nothing is official yet of course, and yes, this is the most tedious and played out story line possible, but here are the latest headlines on the situation.
Maybe David De Gea isn’t going to Real Madrid after all? Various reports today, including this one from BBC Sport Football, indicate that Old Trafford has become confident that De Gea will stay put.
“He’s our best player for the past two or three years so we cannot let him go so easily,” Van Gaal said of the Spain international, who is out of contract next summer.
“We want to sell at the same level as we pay. We want to keep him of course.”
For United, at least in this situation, the transfer window can’t shut fast enough.
