Manchester City hosts Borussia Dortmund Wednesday night in a UEFA Champions League match-up that features plenty of reunion storylines. Erling Haaland, who may just actually break the English single season scoring record this season, gets a chance to reunite with former Dortmund mates. The same goes for City’s deadline day signing at center back, Manuel Akanji.

We predict both will be in the first team for the midweek clash. Let’s now preview this match and predict the rest of the first team selections.

Manchester City Starting XI Prediction vs Borussia Dortmund

Ederson; Cancelo, Dias, Akanji, Gomez; Silva, Rodri, De Bruyne; Foden, Haaland, Grealish

Prediction: Manchester City 2, Borussia Dortmund 0

Pretty straight forward choices for Pep Guardiola, against a side that is coming off a big humbling, having previously won the three matches that preceded it. This really shouldn’t be too hard for the Cityzens.
