Happy Thursday Manchester United supporters! Just a week until summer transfer window deadline day; which means just 10 days until the season opens at Old Trafford versus Chelsea.
In this edition, we cover the latest regarding the pursuits of Sporting CP midfielder Bruno Fernandes and Leicester City central defender Harry Maguire. Additionally, we have an item on the teenager who could be United’s third signing of the summer. We have a few transfer gossip items to cover, so let’s dive right.
TalkSPORT claims, according to their exclusive sources that United have set a deadline for getting the Maguire deal over the line, and that ultimatum is set for Monday, a couple days ahead of transfer window closing day. It’s the classic “here’s my final offer, take it or leave it” and that’s £80 million, which would be record breaking for a defender.
We’ll see if Leicester accepts or not, but speculation is running rampant right now that a deal could get done. The team did a Twitter post on the shirt numbers for the upcoming season, and Maguire was left out.
Naturally, this development has ramped up the “it’s gonna happen talk.”

According to L’Equipe, United are poised to make Monaco teenager Hannibal Mejbri their third signing of the summer behind Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Mejbri, due to a serious disagreement with the Principality club, has not been in action with their youth side for several months.
With that in mind, the price wasn’t high and United were able to nab him for €10 million. The France U16 international was a man in demand, as he was strongly coveted by Arsenal, with Juventus and Manchester City also reportedly in the mix. ESPN and Metro have more.
Finally, a look at where it all stands with Fernandes.
There is some good news, bad news according to the Daily Mirror. The good is that Sporting CP have reportedly already identified a potential replacement. The bad is United now face competition from Tottenham Hotspur.
