Marcus Rashford is currently the man of the hour, as the young Englishman bagged a brace in Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Liverpool today. United are now unbeaten in their last eight Premier League contests against their bitter rivals, drawing three and winning five.
In that span, United have outscored the Reds 12-4, with LFC’s last league win in the series coming way back in March of 2014.
Marcus Rashford, who became the first United player in 21 years to score twice (14′, 24′) in the same contest against Liverpool, is a top trending term nationally on Twitter right now, as is #MUNLIVE and Manchester United. Here below you can find the video footage of both of Rashford’s goals.

Check out the statistics below that convey the man of the match performance for Rashford, who was making his first start in league play this season, and scored his first brace since his top flight debut, in February 2016 versus Arsenal.
As you can see from the numbers cited below, Rashford gets it done in the biggest games too; scoring most often against the big boy clubs.

29% – Marcus Rashford has scored with 29% of his shots in the Premier League against 'big six' clubs, compared to a 10% ratio against the other teams. Talent. #MUNLIV

What is perhaps most amazing about this victory from United is the fact that they achieved it without much, if anything from their two best players- Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez. The former is the most expensive player in United history, while the latter is the highest paid player in club history.
Alexis was in the first team today, but saw himself replaced in the 36′ by defender Matteo Darmian.
Yesterday, United manager Jose Mourinho gave his explanation as to why Sanchez has struggled so badly since moving over from Arsenal (read that at this link). As for Pogba, he suffered a late injury in training yesterday and missed the game, but he was in very high spirits afterward.

From the looks of it, there is no rift between the two gentlemen. Despite a wave of media reports claiming the opposite, Pogba and Mourinho look to be on very good terms.
