United to Reportedly Smash Salary Records in Alexis Sanchez Deal

Nothing is official yet, but the Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United transfer seems to be drawing closer and closer. When the deal is done, the Arsenal star man could become the highest paid player in British history. Here’s what a few outlets are saying about the huge wage bill the Chilean will supposedly command at Old Trafford.

The Sun reports that Sanchez is to set to become Britain’s: “first £500,000-a-week player after agreeing a £118.3million contract to join Manchester United. The Arsenal rebel has been offered a stunning £505,000-a-week 4½-year deal at Old Trafford.”

Meanwhile the Manchester Evening News provided the following breakdown of what Sanchez could earn:

Per year before a presumed 45 percent tax: £25.5m

Per month before tax: £2.1m

Per week before tax: £490,000

Per day before tax: £70,000

Per hour before tax: £2,900

Additionally, M.E.N. references how The Mirror reports he would earn 80p a second. Wow!

Also, Arsenal’s transfer fee for Alexis is reportedly £35 million, and Old Trafford don’t seem to have any issues with paying. Actually, United have paid more than that for four different players: Juan Mata (£37m), Angel Di Maria (£56m), Paul Pogba £89m) and Romelu Lukaku (£75m).

While the deal isn’t finalized yet, multiple outlets are reporting that Mourinho has a desire to get Sanchez registered tomorrow, so that he could make his debut on Saturday against Burnley. There has even been a discussion about whether or not they could have Alexis on board and officially confirmed in time to include him on the Champions League roster.
