Man United Leave Van Gaal out of Summer Tour Promo

Manchester United announced their summer preseason tour yesterday and with it released a new video promoting the tour. The vid does not include Manager Louis van Gaal; not even once. This omission could just be superficial or benign. Or it could be an occurrence that you should read more into as it may be predictive of changes to come.

It’s up to you to read into that what you will.

For what it’s worth, Van Gaal was featured heavily in last summer’s tour promo video. Also, we all overreacted and over-stated the inclusion of goalkeeper David de Gea into last year’s video, believing we should read in between the lines on that too. (Although he did end up staying, not going to Real Madrid, so there’s that).

Man United will be going to China for their preseason friendlies. They will play two games in during an eight-day pre-season tour of the country. The English Premier League giants did not say which teams it will play as it prepares for the 2016-17 season.

China is experiencing a massive boom within the sport right now. Man United’s rivals, Manchester City will be playing in China as well this summer, although their opponents and schedule is yet to be determined.

City will be a part of the International Champions Cup, a grouping of preseason friendlies taking place in several countries across the globe featuring all the big name brands from across the world in global football.

Man United have played in the International Champions Cup the past two seasons.
