Paul Scholes Calls Out Jose Mourinho Over His “Moaning”

Manchester United club legend Paul Scholes has had enough of Jose Mourinho’s moaning, whining and complaining. The member of the iconic Class of ’92 is certainly expressing a point of view that is widely held, as United sit mid table right now after seven games, playing so poorly that their accumulated point total is level with where David Moyes was at this stage during the one partial season that he was in charge.

United haven’t won at home since opening day and the fans are getting restless.

“Unfortunately because the form is not great, he’s chopping and changing, he has no idea what his best team is, he has no idea what his best system is, and this is after over two years,” Scholes told BBC 5Live.

“I’m sick of him moaning about what he hasn’t got, when I think he really should be concentrating on what he has got. I think he’s got some real quality in the squad who are very low in confidence.”

Those are all great points raised by Paul Scholes, who said he surprised that Mourinho wasn’t sacked after the 3-1 loss to West Ham United last weekend. Scholes believes Mourinho should be allowed to stay, and try to clean up the mess he currently has on his hands.

The former midfielder believes Mourinho is still a great coach, but he just needs to start showing it again.

“Jose over the years has been a brilliant coach, his record suggests that, he’s been one of the very best,” Scholes continued.”I think now, I’d like to see him stay. Take this — which I think is probably the biggest challenge of his career — and show us what a good coach he is.

“I’ve been there and it’s horrible. These players look like they’re really struggling for confidence.”

On Friday Mourinho gave a very short, terse and rather defensive weekly press conference, which lasted just three minutes and change. The video of that session is below:
