Manchester United and France midfielder Paul Pogba is certainly a polarizing player and what he has said now will only increase that polarization. Pogba admits that he’s lost some concentration after winning the World Cup with France this July, and these remarks will only serve to fuel his critics, who say that he’s too caught up in dancing, emojis, haircuts and being a star, instead of simply focusing on his football.
On the other hand, Pogba also declared his ambitions for the season, saying he wants to win the Premier League title, so you can’t question his determination and motivation.
“It’s hard to concentrate, to start again, to hit hard, because we touched the stars,” the 25-year-old said to news wire service AFP.
“For us, it was the best trophy you can win as a footballer, but we like challenges too, we have goals. For example, I’ve never won the Premier League, that’s an objective. I’d like to do that.”
There is a whole lot that has gone wrong at United this season, and they have a lot of issues to fix if they want to get back into the title race. Sitting mid table and often showing awful form, they have quite the mountain to climb. Front and center this season has been the feud/row/rift/bad blood whatever you want to call it between Pogba and manager Jose Mourinho.
Pogba’s comments today will only give more validation to those who are on Mourinho’s side in this tiff.
