For Manchester United, the “biggest” of their preseason exhibition games (if you can call a friendly “big”) commences in a few hours with the International Champions Cup clash against Liverpool in Michigan Stadium.
Although it’s just a friendly, up to 100,000 spectators are expected to attend so there is certainly no shortage of topics to discuss today. Let’s take a spin through the latest news and notes items making the rounds on the internet this Saturday.
Cheap tickets are still available for this match, if you’re a student at the University of Michigan, or know somebody who is and could buy you one.
There are also general public tickets available, but they’re $50! Also, parking around the venue is nightmarish as possible.
Any lot within a mile and a half from Michigan stadium charges an exorbitant amount, and the logistics of entering and leaving on the roadways surrounding the Ann Arbor, Michigan venue are catastrophic for hours after conclusion of the game.
-Defender Marcos Rojo, who went on holiday in Mexico after playing for Argentina in the World Cup, has decided not to join up with United in Detroit. Rojo, currently nursing a knock, will head home to sort out his club future with Wolves keen to acquire him. United have even taken the steps of removing Rojo from their branding campaigns ahead of his exit, claims the Daily Mail.
With Rojo likely heading out, Matteo Darmian desperately wanting out and new acquisition Diogo Dalot not being ready to play until September, United have a ton of questions to sort out in the back line. It looks like the end result will be an overhaul as United are keen to buy either Toby Alderweireld or Harry Maguire this summer.
-United did a football meet football, game recognizes game photo-op with the Los Angeles Rams. Nemanja Matic and Ndamukong Suh were the stars of the photo shoot.
United have now completed the L.A. portion of their preseason training, and they stayed in southern California as long as they could, before flying to Detroit.

-One guy who won’t be in Ann Arbor, Michigan today is forward Anthony Martial, who left the tour to go be with his partner and witness the birth of their second child.
Martial posted the following photo on social media from France:
