Manchester City won the home edition of the Manchester derby this season 3-1 back in November, and they are heavily favored to take reverse fixture as well. If United, who looked as shambolic as possible on Easter Sunday in a 4-0 loss to Everton are to win at Old Trafford in mid-week, it would be a massive upset.
The only good thing that could be said about United’s dismal showing yesterday is that they have no more time to dwell on it and must move on quickly. For City, they have to win in order to stay on pace with Liverpool for the league title, so they will certainly head into the rescheduled Manchester derby with guns blazing.
Look for City manager Pep Guardiola to field a really strong side here as he chases his treble dreams in northwest England.
