Liverpool FC will not be signing Mario Gotze, the player’s father and new Manager told Suddeutsche Zeitung. So there’s the first transfer rumor of the summer to be shot down. It certainly won’t be the last. Gotze, a forward with Bayern Munich, won’t be reuniting in Liverpool with his former boss at Borussia Dortmund.
He wants to find new life, i.e. more playing time at Bayern.
Using the hashtag #partofbayern, Mario Gotze announced on Facebook that he will now be managed by his family moving forward. He severed ties with his agent yesterday.
Jurgen Gotze, his father and now manager is quoted in Suddeutsche Zeitung:
“I don’t know anything about an alleged imminent transfer to Liverpool,” he said. “Mario is my son, we talk to each other. I would know about it.”
