Both Liverpool and Leeds United are the current leader of their respective leagues. The former have taken 100% of points possible this young Premier League season. In nine matches, the latter have won five, drawn three and lost one so far in the Championship.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side are free bets odds-on favorite to win the title for the first time in the the Premier League era, whereas Leeds are desperately hoping to finally secure promotion to the Premier League.
There’s still an incredibly long way to go until the end of the season, with anything capable of happening from now until May, but these two teams have been tearing defenses apart in their respective leagues.
However, British tabloid The Daily Star is already looking ahead at what could happen come end of the season, with the publication reporting that one of Liverpool’s midfielders could switch Anfield for Elland Road next summer.
The player in question is Reds fan favorite James Milner who began his playing career with Leeds United all the way back in 2002 when he became the second youngest player to ever play in the Premier League. Before this year, Milner was also the youngest player to score in the Premier League at 16 years and 356 days, before this record was later smashed by James Vaughan.
Milner would leave Leeds United for Newcastle in 2004, then go on to Aston Villa, before later joining Manchester City, where he lifted two Premier League trophies, the FA Cup, League Cup and the Community Shield. He then shifted over to Liverpool in 2015, where he is yet to win any silverware.
His work rate, versatility and superb form when given the nod to play has cemented his status as a firm fan favorite.
Of course, if the latest reports bear fruits, then Milner could well be tempted by a return to his boyhood club next summer. That’s provided the Whites’ boss Marcelo Bielsa is capable of leading Leeds back into the top-flight.
It’s worth nothing that there’s little to back up the Daily Star reports, in terms of sources, although that won’t stop Leeds United supporters of dreaming of a reunion with their former player – James Milner.
But for the time being, Milner looks happier than ever at Liverpool and he’s more than likely to see out his current contract with the Reds which runs until 2020, and if he continues in this great form, it would come as no surprise to see him offered a new deal at Liverpool.
That being said, Liverpool’s Premier League fixture this weekend has been one of the top trending topics in football media lately as they will travel to Stamford Bridge and face Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea side.
The Reds attack will be looking to cause havoc on Chelsea’s defense, having just got evicted from the League Cup in midweek by this same Chelsea side.
