Liverpool’s last adventure in the January transfer window didn’t work out. It’s very well known that the Reds were hoping to sign Shakhtar Donetsk forward and Chelsea target Alex Teixeira.

Shakhtar Donetsk star Alex Teixeira is set to become the latest player to move to China, coach Mircea Lucescu confirmed.
The 26-year-old appears likely to join Jiangsu Suning in a 50 million euro ($56M) move.
“We agreed to the sale of Alex Teixeira to China, but we will wait a bit to give as finalized because of the situation of [Luiz] Adriano,” Lucescu told ESPN. “But it’s close from our side, yes.”
Although this one got away, Liverpool still had a busy window. They signed 24-year-old defender Steven Caulker in a loan deal from Queens Park Rangers, bought Marko Grujic from Red Star Belgrade (Here’s more on him), and extended their goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.
According to his Wikipedia page, Alex Teixeira made his debut for Shakhtar came on 20 March 2010. He has been capped at Under-17 and Under-20 level for Brazil.
