Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata was in Davos to discuss his global charity project Common Goal with the world’s biggest movers and shakers. Mata hosted a Facebook Live event on Common Goal and took part in a FaceToFace Davos Conversation Series alongside BAFTA winning screenwriter and Comic Relief founder Richard Curtis.
Mata and Bayern Munich superstar Mats Hummels set up Common Goal, which sees footballers donating one percent of his salary to a collective charity fund this season. You now have 40 players and one manager who have joined the cause, including USWNT stars Alex Morgan and Megan Rapinoe.
The head of UEFA is also on board.
