Jose Mourinho Says Manchester City Documentary Lacked Class

Manchester City’s new eight-part documentary film, “Manchester City: All or Nothing,” was released yesterday, and part two includes some dialogue that greatly offended Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho.

The film’s narrator Ben Kingsley describes City’s 2-1 win at United on December 10, 2017 (which essentially ended the league title race right there and then) as “Guardiola versus Mourinho once more; possession vs. defense; attacking football vs. park the bus.”

As you might expect, this won’t over with Mourinho like a led ballon, especially when you remember that this match featured tempers flaring to the point that we had a post match brouhaha in the Old Trafford tunnel and dressing room.

“You can have a fantastic movie while respecting others. You don’t need to be disrespectful to have a fantastic movie,” Mourinho said in an interview with Sky Sports.

“You can be a rich club and buy the best players in the world but you cannot buy class and they showed that clearly, that was really obvious.”

United would go on to win the second Manchester Derby of the season, 3-2 at the Etihad in April, but it was far from from enough. The Red Devils finished runners-up, but 19 points behind City for the title.

That broke the league record for title winning margin, and Pep Guardiola’s team also set new records for points, goals, wins and goal differential.

Circle the Manchester Derby dates on the calendar this season- November 11 at the Etihad and March 16 at Old Trafford.
