It will eventually become a very exciting summer transfer window at Chelsea FC, with plenty of comings and goings. Yes, we know it has been crickets chirping thus far, but trust us, things will warm up soon.
Let’s take a spin through the latest transfer rumors and gossip making the rounds on the internet today. As always, until the deal is official, take transfer rumors with a grain of salt.
-The reports that Manchester City had reached an agreement with Napoli for midfielder Jorginho were ultimately proven to be premature. Pep Guardiola’s number one midfield target this summer has his heart set on joining Chelsea, according to the Manchester Evening News.
M.E.N. reports that Stamford Bridge “are trying to hijack the prospective deal for Jorginho,” who City value at around £35 million, while Napoli are seeking a sum closer to £53 million.
-Former Chelsea, Liverpool and Atletico Madrid star Fernando Torres announced on Twitter Monday that he would reveal his next team on Tuesday. That team, we learned a few hours ago, is Japanese side Sagan Tosu.
The other clubs that Torres strongly considered were Sydney FC of the Australian A-League and the Chicago Fire of Major League Soccer. Fire manager Veljko Paunovic is a former Atletico teammate of the Spanish legend.
Torres broke the Liverpool transfer fee mark when he joined in 2007, as well as the Chelsea record when he switched to Stamford Bridge in 2011. That transfer deal also set the record for the most expensive Spanish player of all time.

Crystal Palace winger and Blues target Wilfried Zaha recently rejected a contract extension offer from his current club. The Eagles were prepared to significantly increase his wages, but Zaha has his heart set on a move to a bigger club.
Numerous big clubs are reportedly rivaling Chelsea for his services, including Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and Borussia Dortmund.
