It’s been a season of records at Chelsea FC, and there’s probably still a few more to come. In the preseason, the Blues broke the all time Chelsea attendance record in their summer exhibition loss to Real Madrid at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
That was back in July.
Today saw another major mark fall as Chelsea beat Bournemouth 3-0 to set a new club milestone for consecutive wins. This was their 12th victory in a row and if they win the next two, they’ll tie 2001-2002 Arsenal (the Gunners matched that mark again the following season) for the most consecutive triumphs in Premier League history.
“To win 12 games in a row is not easy in this league,” said Chelsea Manager Antonio Conte.
“It’s a fantastic run but it’s important to continue that now.
“In four days we have another tough game and we have to prepare very well. Because now, every team wants to beat you.”
Chelsea, who have outscored their opponents 27-2 during the 12 game run, got two goals from Pedro today, and another from Eden Hazard (his 50th all time in the Premier League).
