The Penn State Nittany Lions will be without four players for its TicketCity Bowl game against Houston on New Year’s Day, the only one you’ve heard of is wide receiver Curtis Drake, who beat up starting QB Matt McGloin a week or so ago.
McGloin has thrown 1,571 yards, 8 TDs and 5 INTs this season, completing 54% of his passes, but throwing for a miniscule 6.8 yards per attempt. Drake has just 5 catches for 102 yards and a TD on the season. Coach Tom Bradley said Drake is missing the game, played in the historic Cotton Bowl in Dallas, for “personal reasons.” Whatever that means.
McGloin himself is still questionable after not practicing today.
Last Saturday, the signal caller argued over miscues on the practice field with the wideout, leading to Drake confronting McGloin at his locker and the brouhaha began. McGloin suffered a seizure and a concussion after the fight.
If he can’t go then it’s Rob Bolden as QB1 which means…well, go look up his stats, I dare you. When you see how ugly his numbers are….To see the other three PSU players not making the trip go here
