Manchester United is in a world of hurt right now, with manager Jose Mourinho obviously miserable and many supporters fed up with him, and those above him. That’s the bad news.
The good news? Well, there really isn’t any, but hey, here comes this pink kit, the first in club history. Yes, United unveiled their pink shirt yesterday, which will serve as a road kit that honors the city of Manchester’s newspaper history. Take a look:

The great unveil of the inaugural pink kit came in a wraparound over the match day program yesterday, ahead of a dismal 3-0 home loss to Tottenham Hotspur. Adidas is launching the strip as an homage to the The Football Pink newspaper, which was produced by the Manchester Evening News and published on Saturdays until it went defunct in 2007.
“Its legacy endures and this season The Pink rides again,” said the front page of United Review.
“Not just in the hearts and minds of the fans, but on the backs of their heroes too.”
Seriously, it is great to see anybody having nice things to say about the media these days, given the strong feelings against journalists that feels pervasive right now (including within Mourinho himself).
