In all likelihood, when we talk about Jim Harbaugh at this time next year, he will be coach of the Michigan Wolverines, not the San Francisco 49ers. As we’ve chronicled, Harbaugh’s days in Frisco are numbered. Michigan is a train wreck right now, especially on offense. Given the high standards they have in Ann Arbor, the 2014 edition of the Michigan Wolverines look even worse.
So it looks like Brady Hoke will be given his pink slip sooner rather than later.
Today’s performance versus Utah is a testament to that. At least Rich Rodriguez could score points.
And if the NFL cognoscenti are correct, Jim Harbaugh will be looking for a new gig at the same time Michigan will need a new coach. And you know how much Michigan wanted Jim Harbaugh the last time there was opening. (as you recall, Harbaugh took the San Fran job at the last minute instead)
For the time being though let’s enjoy the last year of Harbaugh in the NFL. And the best way to enjoy his persona is through the art of lampoon.
“Tea Time with Jim Harbaugh” a new digital series from FOX Sports is here. In these clips, Coach Harbaugh (played by comedian Kurt Soder) picks each division’s winner over afternoon tea – and it’s about as weird as you’d expect. The impersonation is spot on, and the running gig of goofy, incoherent non-sequitur analogies and metaphors and that is pure Jim Harbaugh.
Here’s the link from Fox describing the online series. Yes, there are khakis jokes.
Here the comedic version of Jim Harbaugh breaks down the AFC North:
And picks the Bengals.
The NFC East:
Jim Harbaugh picks the Philadelphia Eagles.
The NFC West:
Jim Harbaugh predicts, well you know the answer.
