It has been claimed that Alexis Sanchez’s representatives have held talks with Antero Henrique, sporting director of PSG ahead of a potential move to the Ligue One club. PSG are keen to tie the forward down to a long-term contract, however, the Arsenal man is holding out for a three-year deal, worth some £275,000 a week post tax. That said, the Ligue One champions remain confident that an agreement can be reached, though they are yet to agree a fee with Arsenal.
Currently, the Chilean is 15/8 to sign for the French club but at 5/6, staying at Arsenal currently looks for likely for the 28-year-old. Arsene Wenger is hell bent on keeping his star man this summer but if the Frenchman does budge, it is thought that he would prefer to lose his man to a club outside of the Premier League. A sensible stance given that Manchester City are 4/1 to sign the forward. City are said to be Sanchez’s first choice and the forward reportedly admitted that he wishes to leave Arsenal in search of Champions League football, last week.
With just a year left on his current deal, if Sanchez does remain at the club but continues to refuse to sign a new contract, the Gunners risk losing the striker on a free, having signed the player for £30 million back in 2014. Last season, Sanchez netted 31 goals in 59 appearances for both club and country. One of those goals came in the FA Cup final, helping his side to win their 13th FA Cup. The Chilean was also awarded Man of the Match as he helped his side see off Chelsea 2-1. The Gunners are 8/1 to win their 14th next season.
Losing Sanchez would be a huge blow for Wenger and even more so with Mesut Ozil also playing hard ball over a new contract. Sanchez is undoubtedly one of the best players in the Premier League, if not the world, if you get sports free bets on Freebets.com you’ll see it’s no surprise he is third favourite to win the PFA of the Year Award at 11/1.
However, at 7/1 Eden Hazard remains firm favourite. The Belgian wizard grabbed 22 goals and nine assists for Chelsea and Belgium over the course of last season, helping the Blues to the Premier League title. Harry Kane comes in at second favourite at 9/1. The 23-year-old enjoyed a whirlwind season during the last campaign and scored an impressive 38 goals in 41 appearances for Spurs and England, an equivalent of a goal every 1.07 games.
