SportsCenter Anchor and HUGE Seattle Seahawks fan Lisa Kerney sat down with us less than 24 hours after the Seahawks earned their place in Super Bowl XLIX. As you can expect, she’s very excited about the game coming up.
In our exclusive conversation (podcast below), Lisa Kerney (Twitter @LisaKerney) talks about the Seahawks, Russell Wilson‘s contract situation, her journalism career, and how she got to ESPN. She also makes her Super Bowl prediction.
In the interview Lisa Kerney also talks about how/when she met her husband, former Seahawks player Patrick Kerney, the 2007 NFC Defensive Player of the Year. Kerney was at KING-TV in Seattle (October 2005-10) serving as weekend sports anchor and Northwest Sports Tonight host.
She was also responsible for The Jim Mora Show, which aired after every Seattle Seahawks game. Patrick Kerney played in Seattle from 2007-09, when Lisa Kerney was covering the team. The couple was married in early 2010.
She also gives us an update on what her two-time NFC Pro Bowler is doing these days in his retirement. After his playing career ended he got his MBA at Columbia and now does some financial work with the NFL. By the way, Lisa Kerney was actually a point guard for her team in college, so we covered that topic too.
