Brace yourself, Penn State fans:
Is the Ghost of Joe Paterno at work again? Many of you already seem to think that the Ghost of Joe Paterno had a direct hand in helping the Nittany Lions beat Michigan in four overtimes Saturday night in State College. So if you think that the Ghost of Joe Paterno can win your team some football games, then you probably think that the Ghost of Joe Paterno can also get you some recruits as well.
Case in point: a THREE-STAR wide receiver out of New Jersey, David Njoku, attended the Penn State-Michigan game. It was also a “White Out” game, but not because of the correction fluid. It was because everyone in the stands wore white shirts.
What a novel idea!
So David Njoku, a THREE-STAR wide receiver attends the game and on Monday it comes out that he either decommitted from Rutgers or the Scarlet Knights rescinded the offer because of his weekend activities, according to a blog on NJ.com. There was a FOUR-STAR recruit at tight end at the game too in Mike Gesicki.
Either way, the Penn State faithful will start screaming that the Ghost of Joe Paterno helped David Njoku become a free agent again, especially if Bill O’Brien and his staff offer David Njoku a scholarship. The only other schools in the running are probably going to be Boston College and Temple.
No, make that ANY XX-star recruit that Penn State gets will be the direct result of the Ghost of Joe Paterno.
