The predecessor of Andrew Luck in Indianapolis, Peyton Manning is probably the best quarterback in the NFL right now. Manning is also top 5 all-time. However, Luck is developing into a top 5 talent among active guys playing the position. Not just top 5 talent, but just top 5 QB. That’s how good Andrew Luck is becoming.
There was a corn maze created for him for a reason.
The top four, in no particular order, are pretty solidified: Peyton, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees. After that you can debate a lot of names: Andrew Luck, RG3, Matt Ryan, Joe Flacco, Ben Roethlisberger.
CBS NFL Analyst Phil Simms on Andrew Luck: “His mechanics are flawless. He has great balance. He is big and strong. His shoulder is in the right angle that you always want. And the arm angle makes his throwing motion very efficient. He can drive the football down the field with ease.’
Simms colleague Rich Gannon on Andrew Luck: “I also like the fact that this guy loves the grind. He loves practice. He loves meetings. He loves watching film. I’m not so sure that’s the case with a lot of these young quarterbacks. He’s about the closest thing we have to Peyton Manning, when Peyton Manning first came out of Tennessee. This guy loves to compete. And that’s what I like about Andrew Luck.
