Yvette Prieto and Michael Jordan expecting their first kid

Michael Jordan is recently married again. To a much younger woman named Yvette Prieto. She previously dated Julio Iglesias Jr. before meeting the Chicago Bulls legend and Charlotte Bobcats owner, His Airness Michael Jordan. It was recently announced that MJ and Yvette Prieto are expecting their first child.

Given how his first marriage went, and how his lifestyle seems to be, I don’t really get this decision. But then again, I also don’t get why women marry child molesters and stay married to them, so what do I know? Now is not the time for deep thinking; now is the time to see more of what Yvette Prieto looks like.

New Michael Jordan North Carolina basketball cards: highest value of all time?

The MSN is releasing a new Michael Jordan University of North Carolina Master Collection Set. They claim it will be the highest valued basketball
card set of all time. And of course, we should trust them because they’re not biased at all, right. I mean they’re telling us the truth, correct? No hyperbole here about the Chicago Bulls guard who is in fact the greatest NBA player of all time. No, none at all.

The Upper Deck staff believes individual sets may sell for as much as 5 Gs. And they wouldn’t lie to us, right? I myself have no idea what they’re worth as I stopped collecting sports cards when I was 16. I then moved on to cars and girls.  (Not that I was successful with either endeavor, I just moved on)

The company unveiled the set at the 2013 Las Vegas Industry Summit with four hard-signed Michael Jordan autograph cards, one Michael Jordan logo patch card set, one 1982 National Championship ring and one super premium card from Michael Jordan.

Michael Jordan offered pro baseball contract

Michael Jordan turned 50 last week. You and I know this because both the local and national media wouldn’t shut up about it all week; even though it was a total non-story. Leeching off the recent Michael Jordan mania, a Chicago area independent league baseball team is looking to get some publicity of their own.

The Joliet Slammers, named for the city’s reputation for it’s prison industry, offered Michael Jordan a chance to play this season; yes even at age 50. The Slammers, who used to be known as the Joliet Jackhammers (named for the city’s declining steel industry), are a franchise known for pulling publicity stunts like this. A lot of minor league teams have wacky promotions but Joliet takes it a step further. They previously held a Rod Blagojevich “golden seat” night and offered White Sox legend and future MLB Hall of Famer Frank Thomas a contract when his career was over.

So although the team may not be affiliated with any major league franchise, they know how to get people talking in a major way. And last summer they had a tarp disaster video go viral.

bobcats cheerleaders

The Sports Bank will be counting down to the opening tip of the 2012-13 NBA season with team by team previews starting with the worst and working our way to the title contenders.  There is no lockout this time around so let’s get going.

After finishing with the worst winning percentage in NBA history, the Charlotte Bobcats have nowhere to go but up.  Their rise won’t be rapid but owner Michael Jordan made a couple of minor moves that should make the ‘Cats slightly more competitive this season although not likely enough to get them out of the cellar of the Eastern Conference.

Bob Pettit

If you ask a lot of people who he or she thinks is the greatest basketball player of all time, I bet most people would say Michael Jordan. Some might say Wilt Chamberlain. Some might say Magic Johnson. Unique skill-sets are what set players apart from one another. LeBron James was supposed to the “next” MJ coming out of high school.

But we soon found out that his skill-set resembled Magic Johnson’s more than MJ’s. I would say that Kobe Bryant will be the closest thing to Jordan that we will ever see in the NBA.

Boston Celtics vs. Miami Heat: everything you need to know

LeBron James and Paul Pierce

Well, here is the Miami Heat for the second year in a row: the Eastern Conference Finals. All of us know how last year ended for the Heat: a 4-2 NBA Finals loss to Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks. Last year, the Heat beat the Boston Celtics in the second round of the NBA playoffs, 4-1. But it’s a new year and, probably, the last time the Boston’s “Big Three + Rondo” will ever be together. So what are we to expect from these two teams with a trip to the NBA Finals on the line? Let’s take a look.

NBA Draft: Where Do The Charlotte Bobcats Go From Here?

Michael Jordan

The Charlotte Bobcats could not have had a worse season. Actually, if winning 7 of 66 games isn’t embarrassing enough, it would be even more embarrassing if the Bobcats didn’t end up getting the #1 pick in the June draft. This team has a lot of improving to do and it starts with cleaning house.

The Closest Thing to Michael Jordan? It’s NOT About the Numbers!

Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan

No one will ever be what Michael Jordan was to the Chicago Bulls, NBA, or basketball in general. Several great players have been compared to Jordan, most notably Kobe Bryant and LeBron James. Everyone thought that James was going to be the next Jordan when he entered the league. Nine years later, James hasn’t accomplished anything more than a couple of MVP awards and two appearances in the NBA Finals, both resulting in losses. Most of the James-Jordan comparisons stopped when James decided to “take his talents to South Beach” to become Robin to Dwyane Wade’s Batman. That leaves Bryant, the last standing talent of the late 1990?s.
