First off, before we analyze the Chicago Bears Draft, I have to say that referring to Chicago as “Chi Town” is akin to calling the United States of America: “‘Murrica!” Do you see now why us Chicagoans don’t like it? We kept hearing “Chi Town” over and over and over again during the 2015 NFL Draft, and you get to hear it yet again in the video below.
Newly minted Bears GM Ryan Pace lived up to the hype in his first draft as he did a fantastic job fusing “best player available” and “filling team needs.”
Chicago Bears first round pick Kevin White, WR, West Virginia, was a steal at #7 overall, but Eddie Goldman falling to them in the second round was perhaps the steal of the draft. He had a first round grade no doubt.
–RB Jeremy Langford, Michigan State:
He’s not flashy, just a move the chains kind of guy. He doesn’t play as fast as he tests, but he’s a tremendous value. More on him here.
Like all safeties in this class, benefitted from this year being such an especially weak crop. Most safeties moved up the board due to this being a particularly weak class. The Bears certainly have needs in the secondary; so this is a solid pick. More on this guy here.
Chicago Bears legend Curtis Conway teamed with Jeff Graham and Erik Kramer to give the Bears their first ever modern passing offense. They were the group that led the Bears into this new era of ultra pass-happy NFL football.
Conway, currently a studio analyst for the Pac 12 Network and co-host of Total Access on the NFL Network, was in town for NFL Network’s broadcast and coverage of the 2015 NFL Draft. At NFLN’s Media Day to preview the draft, we talked a whole host of topics including the Chicago Bears recipe for success, the NFL, what makes Chicago the greatest sports town, his draft experience and rookie year. Finally, FOX Sports Draftniks grade the Chicago Bears draft with an A, and A-, video below:
