One woman is dead and 19 other people are injured following a terrorist attack by a member of a white supremacist group in Charlottesville, Virginia on Saturday. A 20-year-old white male committed alleged vehicular homicide as he intentionally drive his car into a crowd of counter-protestors demonstrating against the hate rally.
This came on the heels of a torch-lit demonstration by nazis, neo-nazis, confederacy sympathizers, alt-right, white nationalists, white supremacists and other hate groups held on the University of Virginia campus in Charlottesville.
Chicago Red Stars midfielder Danielle Colaprico is a UVA grad, and following her team’s first home loss of the season Saturday night, she spoke about the “awful” events that she just “couldn’t watch.”

Colaprico was asked for her reaction to the tragedies in Charlottesville following Chicago’s 3-2 loss to the Portland Thorns. She is absolutely correct when she states that the deplorable acts committed today are hard to watch. Footage of the white supremacist terrorist act was captured by many on video, and it embedded for you below.
We warn you that this is graphic and disturbing, and once you see it, the video cannot be unseen.

Asked in the mixed zone what her message would be to the UVA and Charlottesville community, Colaprico said:
“I don’t know a lot of what’s going on. I just watched a little bit of it on the news. I personally would just stay away from it. I don’t think it’s in the interests of the students to get involved in any of that, (so I would say) stay away from the riots.”
Colaprico and the Red Stars turn right around and host Seattle Reign FC on Wednesday, Aug. 16, at 7 p.m. CT at Toyota Park.
