Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan

The NBA has seen some pretty great players in its history — players with amazing shooting percentages; players that know how to take charge of a team; and players who have a lot of hustle and can defend the basket with ease. This article is an ode to those players that can hold their own on the court and have a career that proves it. Here are six great NBA players at the top of the list.

Kobe Bryant made it onto Forbes’ list of the highest-paid athletes in 2015 for his $61.5 million per season. Why does he get paid so much? Because he’s a phenomenal player that has brought fame and fortune to the Los Angeles Lakers. Kobe Bryant has a confidence on and off of the court that has led him to win five NBA championships and an MVP award. He’s not without fault, but many people think he is the best to have ever played.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar played in the NBA for two decades and won six championship titles and 6 MVP awards. He still holds the record for the most all-time scores at 38,387 points. That’s something most players can’t even dream to beat. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is remembered for his famous sky hook and entertaining style.

Michael Jordan is arguably the best basketball player the world has ever seen. He won six NBA championships playing against great players like Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, and John Stockton. Michael Jordan also won five MVPs and became the star player for the Chicago Bulls for several years. He was a great scorer, defender, and team leader. These days, he is a top choice by daily fantasy players on RotoGrinders.com for all-time NBA lineups that would win on sites like DraftKings.

Guards are usually among the shortest players on the team, but Magic Johnson came in at an impressive 6’10”. He competed hard against Larry Bird and earned 5 NBA titles, an Olympic Gold, and three MVPs. He played for the Lakers like many of the other great stars.

Larry Bird was one of the most versatile and entertaining basketball players of the 80s. He won three MVPs, three NBA titles, an Olympic Gold and was the first member of the 50/90/40 club. People said he could beat you without scoring because of his impressive defending skills. His shooting skills weren’t bad, either.

This 7’1″ player had the nicknames “The Stilt” and “Big Dipper” because of his dominance on the basketball court. Wilt Chamberlain had some of the greatest shooting, rebounding, and defending statistics of his time. He also won four MVPs and had a record 100-point game. He was truly one of the Unstoppables in the NBA.

All of these great players have found themselves in fantasy NBA games. What better way to pay tribute to these NBA stars than picking them for your very own all-star team?
