Sir Alex Ferguson rips Owen Hargreaves in his new book

Now that Sir Alex Ferguson is retired, he’s a little bit freer to take his shots, and not worry about reprisal.

The Sir Alex Ferguson  “My Autobiography” was released in the UK on today, and so far, early reviews say the tome does not disappoint.

The former Manchester United Manager of 27 years did not hold back.

Calgary-born midfielder Owen Hargreaves, who joined Man U in 2007 from Bayern Munich, for the price of 17 million pounds, gets lit up by Fergie. As does David Beckham, who was driven from United/Fergie by Posh Spice (more on that here)
“When I signed him there was something about him I didn’t like,” wrote Sir Alex Ferguson, now a pundit on BT Sport football coverage.

“It turned out to be a disaster.”

Ferguson also says that Hargreaves took the easy way out in training and didn’t have a lot of determination. He’s far from the only target in the Sir Alex Ferguson autobiography. Even international superstar David Beckham gets a less than favorable mention as Fergie says Becks was more interested in achieving fame than he was in being a Manchester United immortal on the pitch.

Sounds like this book is a real page-turner.
