You’ve probably seen numerous polls asking if Manchester United should sack Manager Louis van Gaal, keep him or wait until May. The supporter polls are overwhelmingly in favor of giving him the axe, but the general interest polls are leaning towards firing him as well.
What are the odds that it actually happens? Well, the odds this week have been slashed all across the board.
Take a look at odds checker, Louis van Gaal is now the favorite in the “who is the next Premier League Manager to be sacked?” category.
Sky Bet has Van Gaal at 11-10, with Chelsea’s Jose Mourinho at 5-2 and Newcastle United’s Steve McClaren at 5-1. Van Gaal being the next man out is given 6-4 odds at Coral, 888 Sport, Unibet and 32 Red. Again, the handicappers see this situation as much more likely than Mourinho.
So if Van Gaal is let go who will be his successor? On one hand, ESPN FC has sources saying that United have escalated talks with Pep Guardiola. On the other hand, The Mirror are saying that Ryan Giggs will be given an iron clad agreement that he will inherit the job from LVG.
