Welcome to another one of those “good feeling and plain truth” trumps acrimonious rivalry stories. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said recently that he may be at the right club for the rest of his career. Klopp believes that there could be no other place that he’d rather be that Anfield Road.
Sir Alex Ferguson, the manager or all Manchester United managers, seems to agree. Fergie cut across northwest England blood feud lines to make some really nice professional comments about Jurgen Klopp at the Reds being a perfect match.
In UEFA’s 2015-16 Europa League technical report, Ferguson is quoted: “He’s bought into the fans and the support have taken to him because he’s shown that enthusiasm on the touchline, with his energy and his personality when he’s jumping out there. I think the combination of both suit each other.”
He continued:
“I’ve always thought that playing at Anfield was very difficult because the crowd create an amazing atmosphere that puts a lot of teams, opponents and the referees under pressure a lot.”
“We saw evidence of that: when 3-1 down against [Borussia] Dortmund [last season] they got that second goal and the crowd lifted them and I think it inspires this team. They are that kind of football club, Liverpool, that get inspired by their support.”
Lots of praise for not just Jurgen Klopp, but also the Liverpool fans and Anfield itself, from a man who embodies Man United.
Wow; what a time to be alive
