Wolves will host Chelsea FC when the Yuletide is nigh Sunday night. Gary O’Neil will do his best to put coal in stocking of the visitors and to make Christmas a little more merry for his Wolverhampton Wanderers side and their community at large.

Let’s look at the fitness situation and potential starting lineup for the Christmas Eve fixture.

Wolves Team News

Goalkeeper Jose Sa missed last weekend’s loss to West Ham United with a shoulder injury, but he should be fine to play on Sunday afternoon. O’Neil said: “He’s good, trained fully the last couple days, so he’ll be fit and ready for the weekend.”

Elsewhere Pedro Neto has recovered from a hamstring injury and he’s expected to be involved, at least in some capacity, on Christmas.

“He’s trained the full week with the lads, so we’ll see how he goes in the next two days, to how much involvement he can have at the weekend,” O’Neil said of Neto. “Training is going well, he’s feeling good, so lets see how he is come Sunday.”

And finally, Joe Hodge has resumed full training, after shoulder surgery, and moving closer towards a return. However, this match will come too soon.
