Having already secured a top four finish this season, and with that a berth in UEFA Champions League next season, Manchester United now turn their eyes towards finishing runner-up in the table. It’s not ideal, obviously, but finishing second to a historically elite Manchester City side such as this is certainly nothing to get down about.
Not to sound like United manager Jose Mourinho, but he’s right when he says that this season has gone a lot better than you might think it has, given how the 2017-18 campaign has been portrayed. The Red Devils’ record against the top six is actually pretty good.
Up next for United is a trip to Brighton & Hove Albion, to take on a side that also has something significant to play for. The 16th place Seagulls are looking to stay above the relegation zone. Without further ado, let’s take a look at who Mourinho may select for his first team.
