It will continue to be a very exciting summer transfer window at Manchester United, with plenty of comings and goings. Who will be the next to join Fred and Diogo Dalot as new arrivals this summer? Who will be heading out the Old Trafford door?
Let’s take a spin through the latest transfer rumors and gossip making the rounds on the internet today.
-The continuation of Mino Raiola FC? Since the Jose Mourinho era at United began, Old Trafford have signed a few of the player super-agent’s clients. Perhaps stellar Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti could be next. It was reported earlier this month that Mourinho wants to make Verratti his top summer transfer target
, and part of a really big and bold (and very expensive) starting midfield.
A Pogba-Fred-Verratti middle of the park would certainly be imposing to say the least. The Daily Express has a story on United’s prospects of signing the Italian international, citing a media out in his his home country, Calcio Mercato, who “claim United have been offered the chance to sign Verratti this summer by agent Raiola.”
-Staying in the midfield, United are reportedly interested in Real Madrid man Mateo Kovacic. The Manchester Evening News cites a Daily Mail report which cites that “United have joined Manchester City in the race to sign the 24-year-old but negotiations won’t be easy as Real value him highly as a back-up option.”
Kovacic is unhappy at the Bernabeu due to a lack of playing time and looking for a place where he can get more regular first team chances.
-Finally, Marouane Fellaini is about as high profile a name as you’ll find on the free transfer eligible list, and the favorites to sign him are Arsenal, shockingly.
The Mirror report that Fellaini is set to announce his future at some point this week, with the north London side getting the most favorable odds of all from the bookies. 101 Great Goals has more at this link.
