Now that Ole is officially at the wheel, the newly minted full time manager promises a summer transfer window of consequence at Manchester United. They’re going to need it, as as Old Trafford
1.) has mostly become a summer buying only kind of club and 2.) last summer’s window was a massive let-down.
Having the interim label now removed from his job title, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer met the media as the new permanent manager for the first time and he was asked about upgrading the club this upcoming summer window.
“Of course, we’ve been discussing how to move the club forward,” Solskjaer responded to the query at his news conference. “That doesn’t mean we’ve said x amount of money or x amount of players. We’ve sat down and discussed, but now it’s easier to be clear about what we need to do because we will do some business this summer.”
You can expect United to be very busy in the transfer window, with plenty of wagering action, much like you’ll find sbobet88 on who they may be targeting this summer. Solskjaer has reportedly been advising the club on transfer policy for some time, long before his official appointment. Obviously, their primary targets will be center backs, as they have been aggressively trying (and failing) to upgrade that position for some time. It is widely rumored that Barcelona’s Samuel Umtiti is high on their wish list.
It’s also been well documented that Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho is their number one target overall, but BVB boss Michael Zorc said he’s not interested in parting ways with him this summer.
United could also be in the market for a new midfielder if Ander Herrera decides to move on.
Solskjaer was later asked if it’s possible the new players will arrive in time for preseason, to which he responded: “…there are so many players or players’ agents that have been in touch with our administration [to say] that they want to come here.”
“I’m sure when we decide what we have to do, hopefully, we’ll get them by pre-season.”
