Midfielder Fred signed with Manchester United just last week, and a then a few days later suffered an injury while training with the Brazil national team. United and their fans feared the worst, but apparently, his fitness situation isn’t all that bad and the Brazilian team doesn’t seem too worried about it.
However, he has still been left out of Brazil’s squad for their final warm up match ahead of the World Cup.
The Manchester Evening News writes that Fred flew with the rest of the 23 man team to Austria but “he was not deemed fit enough to make the bench for the final warm up game ahead of the tournament beginning next week.”
Brazil went on to win that international friendly against Austria 3-0 by the way.
Here is some very good news though- video footage of Fred walking at the Brazil team hotel. As far as his fitness for the World Cup is concerned, this is a great sign.
