Man United Team News at Newcastle: Mason Mount, Antony, Rashford

There is certainly little to no alleviation when it comes to Manchester United and their injury crisis. Midfielder Mason Mount moves onto the long-term list now, as his calf issue is substantial. The quasi-good news, or maybe potentially okay news, is that Antony has recovered from the knock that had kept him sidelined.

We can’t really call it “good news” because he never really contributes much when he is on the pitch.

Legitimate good news is the return of Marcus Rashford, from his domestic suspension. As for that long-term injury absentees group, which now “welcomes” Mason Mount, the list consists of:

Casemiro (ankle), Lisandro Martinez (foot surgery), Christian Eriksen (knee), Tyrell Malacia (knee surgery), Jadon Sancho (three months in exile), Amad Diallo (knee) and Jonny Evans (thigh).

Indeed if you’re a MUFC physio, or medical staff, you are definitely putting in the hours at work this season. You are truly earning your pay, due to how beat up this squad has been so far this season. This match is going to be big, in terms of top four finish aspirations, for both sides.
