Manchester United Transfer Talk: Mike Maignan, Joao Felix



The rebuild of Manchester United could definitely take some time, so get ready and dig your heels in for that. The upshot is that we’ll have a summer transfer window filled with many comings and goings.

De Gea’s future at Old Trafford remains uncertain, and if he doesn’t move this year or sign an extension with the United, the club will lose him on a free transfer next summer.

In this edition, we cover Lille goalkeeper Mike Maignan, who kept 15 clean sheets and helped his side reach second place in Ligue 1, on the strength of the French top flight’s best defensive record with just 33 goals conceded this past season.

Various English tabloids have covered United’s pursuit of Maignan, with the club already in contact, working on negotiations.

According to the Daily Record, the deal could be worth about £31 million.

Next we turn to the latest surrounding now long time transfer target Joao Felix, who is also wanted by Manchester City and Real Madrid. United’s interest in the Benfica winger has been very well documented. According to the Daily Mirror, Felix will be monitored by scouts from both Manchester clubs when his side, Portugal, takes on Switzerland tomorrow night in the UEFA Nations League semi-final in Porto.

The teenager’s valuation is reported to be in the neighborhood of £120 million ($150m).
