As many as 10 players could miss out, due to injury, when Tottenham Hotspur hosts Newcastle United on Saturday. It seems only fitting, given how both of these clubs have been extremely injury-riddled the past couple years. Let’s start with Spurs, and one of their best/most important players, Mo Kudus. He’s getting closer, having healed up his thigh muscle injury, but as manager Roberto de Zerbi said on Tuesday: “Mohammed is not ready yet.” Meanwhile James Maddison (shoulder) and Pape Matar Sarr (thigh) are also in that 50/50, “need to pass a late fitness test” category.

Team News for Both Sides
Elsewhere Dejan Kulusevski, Wilson Odobert and Xavi Simons remain sidelined as longer-term knee injury absentees. Shifting gears to Newcastle, Valentino Livramento is nearing a return, but it remains to be seen if this match will come too soon for his comeback from that infamous calf injury.
Meanwhile manager Matthias Jaissle gave the following update on Sunday, in regards to William Osula and his calf injury:
“Will, we need to see. Hopefully, it’s not that serious. He will be back as soon as possible as well. For now, it looks quite good.”
So most likely a couple weeks out of commission for Osula.
And then finally, Joelinton and Dan Burn remain sidelined for the longer-term.
