The rebuild of Manchester United could definitely take some time, so get ready and dig your heels in for that. The upshot is that we’ll have a summer transfer window filled with many comings and goings.

And with Manchester United linked to approximately 97,324 players already, the time is right for some Red Devils transfer talk on this lovely Tuesday. The second edition of MUFC transfer talk can be found at this link. We begin with your industry standard silly season social media over-analysis, and subsequent freakout. United fans are reading a lot into this tweet posted by David de Gea.

De Gea is pictured hugging Real Madrid central defender and team captain Sergio Ramos, re-igniting speculation that United’s stellar goalkeeper is off to the Bernabeu this summer. De Gea’s future at Old Trafford remains uncertain, and if he doesn’t move this year or sign an extension with the United, the club will lose him on a free transfer next summer.

-Next we move on to Paris Saint-Germain star Thomas Meunier, who was been linked as a transfer target of both United and Arsenal. It’s safe to say the Belgian international likely won’t be leaving PSG this summer, and even if he were to go, it probably wouldn’t be to join United.

Meunier said PSG’s loss to United in the Champions League round of 16, where they won 2-0 at Old Trafford, but lost 3-1 home and thus crashed out on away goal differential was “the biggest joke in the history of football.”

The 27-year-old said it was even worse than when they threw away a 4-0 first leg lead with a 6-1 defeat at Barcelona in 2017.

“It was the biggest joke in the history of football,” he told Le Parisien. “I would have bet €1 million that we would not lose.”

“They did not even have chances and they still scored three goals. It was even more shocking than Barcelona.”

Meunier also declared his intentions to remains in the French capital, telling Dutch broadcasters VTM Nieuws:

“I want to stay. We have been talking about a contract extension for a while, but there’s no offer on the table anymore. I’m ready to stay in Paris. Everybody knows.”

-Finally, United are keen on Leicester midfielder James Maddison, and monitoring the situation, according to ESPN.  Maddison was a United fan growing up, and idolized Cristiano Ronaldo. Go here to read everything he had to say on these topics.

Hmmm either Meunier isn’t too sharp or he is playing games. The contract to stay has been retracted and now PSG knows he wants to stay they are hardly going to make a better offer. But if PSG actually want to sell, then his stance could be to get a better deal off UNITED. Would like him to sign but We really need players who want and are capable of playing for United.
