When Tottenham Hotspur and Charlton Athletic get together this mid-week it will mark the first time that the two sides have met since 2011. In that last affair, Spurs cruised to a 3-0 rout in the FA Cup third round. This time, the clash takes place in the Carabao Cup, second round.
Prior to winning the 2024-25 Europa League, Tottenham’s most recent trophy actually came in the League Cup, way back in 2008 when Jonathan Woodgate netted in extra-time, to ensure Spurs’ 2-1 triumph over Chelsea in a London derby tournament final.

Tottenham and Charlton (who currently reside in the Championship) have previously met 17 times, with Spurs winning eight times, the Addicks emerging victorious six times and the two sides splitting spoils three times.
In terms of the starting XI prediction, we expect Tottenham Hotspur manager Roberto de Zerbi to massively rotate his squad.
