Everton travels to Hull City on Sundady for a Premier League fixture that now has a very obvious primary storyline, and it is one of the off-the-pitch varitey. Earlier today, club owners the Friedkin Group announced that they were exploring options for outside investment, and even a potential sale. The American-based Friedkin Group, led by billionaire Dan Friedkin, only just bought the team in December of 2024, but here they are, putting the club right back on the trading block. So that is another topic that we’ll explore in mofe detail, later on. Shifting to on-the-pitch matters, manager David Moyes has three injury concerns: Christian Norgaard, Vitalii Mykolenko and Merlin Rohl.

All three are dealing with undisclosed/unspecified injuries.
Norgaard is likely a 50/50 proposition for this match, with Moyes saying earlier today: “We had a behind-closed-doors game, and we got [Norgaard] the first minutes [in] a long time. He’s making progress. I don’t know if he’s quite ready yet to be involved, but with our numbers being so short, it might be something I have to look at. If I had my way, I would certainly give him a good bit more time, if I could.”
As for Mykolenko, Moyes says he’s “got a chance for Sunday; the extra day might help.”
The manager then added: “We’ll see. We’ve just got the England players back today for the first time, so hopefully they’ll all be fit and ready to go.”
He could make the squad, but he needs to pass a late fitness test first. Ditto for Rohl, who seems to have recovered fully now.
