Manchester United commence their European campaign tomorrow night with a trip to Bern, Switzerland where they’ll face Young Boys. United are heavily favored in this one, but as we learned in the knockout round last season, don’t ever take anybody in the UEFA Champions League for granted.
The Red Devils have a unique opportunity here to rotate their squad at a couple positions, given a pair of players that are suspended by the FA for Premier League play, but eligible to participate in this one.
The Sports Bank Starting XI Prediction
Forwards: Alexis Sanchez, Romelu Lukaku, Marcus Rashford
Midfielders: Fred, Nemanja Matic, Paul Pogba,
Defenders: Luke Shaw, Victor Lindelof, Chris Smalling, Antonio Valencia
Goalkeeper: David de Gea
Marcus Rashford is suspended domestically for the red card he was shown at Burnley. Nemanja Matic is also ineligible on the domestic front due to his second yellow card. Thus, it makes a whole lot of sense to start both in this match. Luke Shaw, having gone through concussion protocol, is ready to rock again.
Manager Jose Mourinho has already confirmed a starting place for the left back.
