Man City Starting XI Prediction, Team News vs Wolves: De Bruyne, Stones, Jota

Manchester City heads to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday for a Premier League fixture in which they are, understandably, heavily favored. While Wolves had a surprisingly good season last year, their 2019-20 is off to a rough start.

As for City, the first domestic treble winning club in English history has had a couple hiccups already, but the advantage they hold over everybody else in goals scored and goal differential conveys just how dominant they have been thus far. That said, let’s take a look at the team news for both sides in this one, starting with the hosts.

Kevin De Bruyne missed City’s Champions League victory over Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday due to a groin injury. The midfield maestro will miss this one too, but City manager Pep Guardiola said the injury isn’t serious and the Belgian will be back after the international break.

“He is not fit,” Guardiola told his weekly conference today. “After the international break he will be ready. It is not a big problem.”

Meanwhile defender John Stones remains out due to a thigh problem. He’s also expected to be back after the internationals.

As for Wolves, their only fitness concern is forward Diogo Jota, who suffered an ankle injury in the Wolves Europa League win.
