What was supposed to be the most compelling and exciting fixture of the Premier League weekend, Chelsea at Manchester City, ended up about as one-sided as possible. City thrashed Chelsea 6-0, in a match that was essentially over before many had even sat down at the stadium or tuned in on television.
City scored four times in the opening 25 minutes, in a game that saw Sergio Aguero net a hat trick and Raheem Sterling bag a brace. Ilkay Gundogan provided the other goal for the hosts. The scoreline broke a new record for Chelsea, as this is now their worst ever defeat in Premier League history.
After the match, an utterly humiliated Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri headed down the tunnel and refused to meet Pep Guardiola for the customary post match hand shake.

Additionally, Aguero matched Newcastle United’s Alan Shearer with his 11th career Premier League hat trick.
As you would expect, this match is dominating the top trending terms on Twitter, so let’s take a look at some of the better Twitter reactions. Here are 10 of the best that we saw.
