Man United News: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Marcus Rashford, Phil Jones

Phil Jones, a darling of social media most times that he takes to the pitch, has been a regular first-teamer under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. He’s definitely a part of United’s long-term plans, and as such has now been rewarded with a contract extension. He’s now contracted to stay at United until 2023, with an option for an additional year.

“I am delighted to have signed a new contract. Manchester United has been a big part of my life for eight years and I love everything about this club,” Jones said in regards to his being a newly minted man.

“I am excited about the challenges that lie ahead of us as we prepare for a very busy period in the season. I would like to thank Ole and the coaching staff for their continued support in my development.”

Elsewhere, Solskajer and striker Marcus Rashford have won the Premier League monthly awards for manager and player respectively.
