Manchester United midfielder McTominay will officially miss Scotland’s fixtures against Cyprus and Kazakhstan this international break. McTominay, who injured his ankle in United’s win over Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday, underwent a scan early this week, but the club did not reveal the results of it.

United only said that they hoped to get the Scottish international back in action soon and that they wish him a speedy recovery.

There have been reports stating that McTominay will be out about four weeks with the injury.

With Paul Pogba also out (a potential return date for him would be the Manchester Derby on December 7), the Red Devils will be extremely thin in midfield for the rest of this month. Going off that potential injury time table, McTominay could also maybe return for the derby, while likely missing the following fixtures:

@ Sheffield United 11/24, Tottenham Hotspur 12/4 and Aston Villa 12/1 in league play; FC Astana in Europa League action on 11/28.
